The first appearance on a case is an "arraignment." In most cases, Ms. Sena will appear and enter a "not guilty" plea on your behalf. The arraignment is an opportunity for Ms. Sena to notify the court that she will be representing you and to get a preliminary view of the charges and evidence against you (as contained in the police report.) Every court appearance after the arraignment (up to trial) is called a "pre-trial conference." These appearances are all designed to resolve the case, whether by dismissal or plea bargain.
